How do you bring in The New Year?!
Hello bloggers! It’s the end of the year! Time to make New Year’s resolutions, get rid of the old and welcome the new; however, have you ever stopped to think about how other people around the world bring in the New Year? People have so many interesting superstitions and traditions. For example in Spain people eat 12 grapes representing 12 wishes, which are to be consumed all at once as soon as the clock strikes 12. Other people walk around the block with a suit case representing all of the new journeys they will embark on in the New Year. In my particular culture it is customary to wear gold if you want money, wear red if you are looking for love, and green for good luck in the New Year. In many European cultures it is believed that the first person to step in your home after the New Year has begun will set the tone for the rest of the year. This also goes hand in hand with bringing in the New Year by making lots of noise to scare away evil spirits. Whatever your tradition or belief system is, the most important thing is to bring in the year with positive vibrations. Look at this as a clean slate, let go of any past hurts or failures. When the clock strikes twelve, you along with the rest of the world will get another chance to start over. So eat your grapes, wear red, or scream at the top of your lungs….Just be happy!!
